TALLINN
Tallinn is the centre of Estonian political and business life. With its population of more than 400 000, the capital is the driving force of the country´s economy.

The city is home to about half of all Estonian companies, which are responsible for ca 50-60% of GDP and nearly 3/4 of total business profit.

Within the SECURE project, the City of Tallinn has the aim of combining tasks of implementing the EU Directive on the energy performance of buildings with tasks of heat supply analysis (use of district or local heating), possibilities for increasing the use of renewable energy sources, etc. Currently, there are energy plans in place, but they do not include environmental factors. The aim is to incorporate renewable energy into the EAP of Tallinn.
